A lot can change over the course of an NFL season and Thursday’s matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers is a perfect example of that.
In Week 1, the team’s starters Jimmy Garoppolo and Justin Herbert were out. In Week 15, the game will be decided by fourth-round pick Aidan O’Connell and first-time NFL starter Easton Stick. After the team’s season fell apart, the Raiders wanted to go with O’Connell over Garoppolo. Stick fills in for Herbert, who will miss the rest of the year with a finger injury.
It’s a big opportunity for both the players. O’Connell struggles to prove he’s worth growing up. If Herbert puts up solid numbers in relief, Stig could significantly extend his playing career.
