Powerball Jackpot: Winning Numbers Announced for $900 Million Grand Prize

The winning numbers for Monday’s estimated $900 million Powerball jackpot — the third-largest jackpot prize in the game’s history — have been drawn.

The numbers are 17, 8, 9, 41, 5 and the red Powerball is 21.

If a player wins Monday night’s jackpot, they’ll choose between an estimated $900 million annual prize or an estimated lump sum of $465.1 million — both before taxes.

Since the April 19 drawing, there have been 37 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner, with one ticket in Ohio matching all six numbers to win a grand prize worth $252.6 million.

Monday’s big prize is the third-largest Powerball jackpot and the seventh-largest U.S. lottery jackpot, according to Powerball. On November 7, California won the largest ever Powerball jackpot of $2.04 billion.

Powerball says on its website that the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

Although no one won Saturday’s big prize, three tickets sold in Colorado and Texas matched five white balls and won prizes of $1 million each, Powerball reported.

Powerball isn’t the only big lottery prize this week. The Mega Millions Jackpot With no winners on Friday, the winnings were estimated at $640 million, according to its website.

The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday at 11 p.m. ET.
