Six people have died in a stabbing attack in Australia on Saturday afternoon, including a suspect who was shot dead by a police officer.
The incident took place at Bondi Junction Westfield, a six-level shopping center in Sydney.
New South Wales Police Assistant Commissioner Anthony Cook confirmed at a press conference that six people had died, including the attacker. He said the suspect was shot by a lone officer.
βAt this point she confronted the perpetrator who moved to the fifth level [of the mall] She quickly walked behind him to catch him. He turned, faced her, and raised the knife. He discharged a gun and the man is now dead,” Cook said.
