Two planes at Haneda Airport in Tokyo “may have collided heavily,” Japanese public broadcaster NHK reported, citing the country’s transport ministry.

The two passenger planes involved belong to EVA Air and Thai Airways and are believed to have come into contact with each other near a taxiway around 11am, NHK reported on Saturday morning.

It cited the Tokyo Civil Aviation Office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) as working to confirm details of the situation.

The broadcaster said there were 207 passengers and crew on board the EVA Air flight and 264 on board the Thai Airways flight. No injuries were reported.

The runway near where two aircraft were parked is suspended, leaving only three operational.

NHK’s airport video footage shows a Thai plane missing part of one of its wings and debris on the runway.

The flight crew can also be seen cleaning up the debris in the video.

The Tokyo Airport Office has sent staff to the area to check the situation.

This is a growing story. A lot more to come.
